WIRELESS VIRTUAL PRODUCTION CAMERA SYSTEM
This camera system is unique because it allows the use of handheld camera movements in a wireless system and a zoom function. This system can gather the rotational data of the receiving motion tracker and interrupt it as zoom ranges. The primary advantage of this system is for the cinematographer to utilize hand motor skills developed from operating physical cameras and bringing that intuition into a virtual environment.
It is relatively hard to imitate handheld camera motion in game engines and virtual environments; This system helps streamline the process using existing technologies.
Using Blueprint Visual Scripting, I interrupted the motion tracker data to recreate a virtual camera in the game engine. Then a simple AI was directed to walk and gesture down a pre-determined path.
